365 degree initiative on how the arts and creativity can spark life-changing dialogue.
For its inaugural year, the SPHERE SERIES has invited national and international leaders in the arts to join a discussion on the value of cultural exchange and to share their experience curating, collecting and engaging with artists both locally and globally.
The SPHERE SERIES began with "The Changing Landscape of the Art Market", a panel discussion with Nicole Berry, Deputy Director of The Armory Show; Cristin Tierney, owner of the Cristin Tierney Gallery NYC; Kaeli Deane, VP, Head of Department, Latin American Art at Phillips; Stas Johnson-Chyzhykov, Associate Director of Collector Relations at Artsy; and moderated by: Jen Sudul Edwards, Ph.D., The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art. Sponsored by: McColl Center for Art + Innovation, The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, LaCa Projects, Jerald Melberg Gallery, New Gallery of Modern Art, SOZO Gallery, Moore&VanAllen and Stephen & Aundrea Wilson.
The ART HISTORY LECTURE SERIES is a monthly social led by Charlotte’s most creative educators, academics and leaders. Each lecture is hosted at a different cultural space in the city and focuses on the cultural, political and historical context of a specific art movement.
