365 degree initiative on how the arts and creativity can spark life-changing dialogue

The SPHERE SERIES has invited national and international leaders in the arts to join a discussion on the value of cultural exchange and to share their experience curating, collecting and engaging with artists both locally and globally.  "The Changing Landscape of the Art Market" featured  Nicole Berry, Deputy Director of The Armory Show; Cristin Tierney, owner of the Cristin Tierney Gallery NYC; Kaeli Deane, VP, Head of Department, Latin American Art at Phillips; Stas Johnson-Chyzhykov, Associate Director of Collector Relations at Artsy; and moderated by: Jen Sudul Edwards, Ph.D., The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art. Sponsored by: McColl Center for Art + Innovation, The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, LaCa Projects, Jerald Melberg Gallery, New Gallery of Modern Art, SOZO Gallery, Moore&VanAllen and Stephen & Aundrea Wilson.

The SPHERE: ART HISTORY LECTURES are a monthly social intended to provide insight into artists, their traditions, techniques and the art movements they are often associated with. Beginning in October 2017, the ART HISTORY LECTURES traveled to 7 cultural spaces throughout the city for a one-of-a-kind event, hosted by nine of Charlotte’s most creative educators, academics and leaders. These casual and educational mini-courses focused on the cultural, political and historical context of a specific art movement by an expert in the field.
